Motherhood.

Last week my little angel baby turned 9 months old! Do not ask me where the time has gone because I will not have an answer for you.

I did a little thinking today, and I came up with NINE (because Callie's 9 months, duh.. ) things that motherhood is to me. Aside from being absolutely perfect.

Motherhood is hard.  I remember seeing a picture on pinterest the other day that said "Yay, its Friday! Oh wait... I'm a mom."  Thank goodness for awesome naps and 8:00 bedtime.

It's entertaining. "Babe! Hurry! Callie's blowing snot bubbles!" Simple minds, simple pleasures? Probably.

It's scaryI'm a worry wart--especially when she's asleep. I check on her 1,737,935 times while she's napping to make sure she's still breathing, and because there is something so incredibly beautiful about a sleeping babe.

It's messy. Ask me sometime about her blow out this last Saturday, in the car, that some how managed to come out of BOTH pant legs, up her neck, and onto the seat in front of her... Oh, and also while we were just pulling into a wedding reception. It was fun. Especially since the hotel bathroom didn't have a changing table.

It's rewarding. Sleep training was such a big hurdle for me to jump over, but let me tell you....it was so worth it.  Callie has officially been sleeping 100% through the night for almost 2 months now, and oh baby, I'm a new person.

It's emotional.  I cry a lot. I'll never forget those first few weeks of motherhood, when my husband would come down the stairs at 3am to me bawling hysterically because I was so sleep-deprived. And not to mention in excruciating pain. (Those first few weeks of breast feeding? I don't want to talk about it.)  BUT, despite those not so good tears, there have been a TON of happy tears.  Callie is HILARIOUS, and multiple times a day she does the silliest things, that end with us rolling on the floor, in tears from laughing so hard.  And call me sappy, but sometimes I just watch her, when she's learning,  or playing, and it brings tears to my eyes because I am so grateful and so very lucky she's mine.

It's life-changing"Motherhood is not about what you gave up to have a child, but what you gained by having one."  Sure, I miss my pre-prego body, and quick weekend getaways with the husband, and going to movies, and going out to eat (we do this with Callie, but eating out with kids is A LOT different), and sleeping in, and late night ice cream trips with friends, and traveling with only one bag, but in all honesty.... I don't miss these things, because Callie is a jillion times better.

It's funHere's a list of what I do all day:  Wake up, feed Callie, play, play, play, nap, play, play, clean, play, feed Callie, play, nap, play, play, feed Callie, play, play, play, feed Callie, and go to bed.
I love it.

It's addicting.  Anyone who knows me, or follows me on Instagram, knows that I am OBSESSED with my child. One day Cam and I had a conversation about how many times we think we kiss her every day... so I TRIED to keep a tally, and lost count after about 300... oh and by this time it was only 8:30 in the morning.  She's just sooooo yummy, and I think Cam is scared that I'm going to eat her.

And here are a few things my babe is up to these days:

Crawling.
After months of being in the zero percentile for weight, she's now in the FIRST percentile. ;)
8th Percentile for height.
Still in 3 month clothing.
Drinks from a sippy.
Giggles and smiles ALL. THE. TIME.
Says da-da all day, every day.
Eats whatever mom and dad eat.
Sleeps through the night.
Loves the T.V. remote.
She knows the drill when the camera comes out.
Loves being "scared".
Flips the pages in her books.
Enjoys my parents new puppies....from a distance.
Loves dropping things off the side of her high chair. Mom loves this too.
Has FIVE teeth.

Congrats if you made it through this whole post. Now you can enjoy some pics of my little darling.

She's the sweetest.

I have a 7 month old?

I can't believe by sweet babe is 7 months old today. Where the heck did time go?  And of course she's wonderful, and will always give me the cutest poses when I want to take pictures. (You can tell I always have a camera pointing at her.)

Here's a couple facts about my angel baby:

My teensy miss weighs 13 lbs.
She wears 3 month clothes still.
She loves eating. And throws a big fit when she finishes her baby food.
She loves her daddy, and goes crazy when he walks through the door.
She wants whatever mom and dad have. Food, phones, remotes, the iPad, you name it.
She would rather play with water bottles or the remote control, than her own toys.
She sits.
She loves spitting.
She cuddles her bumper to fall asleep. (Dad does the same thing with his pillow.)
She loves watching football and basketball. (Also from dad.)
If she's upset, standing on the porch calms her down. every. single. time.
She loves her toes and fingers being "eaten."
She's VERY ticklish, and this supplies us with lots of entertainment.
She laugh-cries... It's where she has a fake cry, and then if we do something funny she'll laugh, and then remember that she's mad, and go back to "crying."
She has 2 teeth.
Everything she holds goes straight to her mouth.
Mom doesn't let her leave the house without a bow on her head.
She gives smiles to anyone who will look at her.
She loves mangoes, sweet potatoes, pears, carrots, peaches, and squash.
She is very, very loved by her mom and dad.

Now just stop growing baby girl. :)

All Hallows Eve

All I have to say, is Halloween is WAY more fun when you have a kid.

Mostly because they're a good excuse to not go to haunted houses when friends invite you.
WIN.

I must say, my husband is pretty spectacular.  He doesn't get into the holiday spirit as much as I do, but he's always willing to wear whatever I want him to.
ANOTHER WIN.

Last year's costumes:

Our family of 3. Callie was only the size of a lemon at the time though.  I didn't do a fun pregnancy costume idea because I hadn't announced it yet, but from the looks of this picture, it was definitely time.

We had our annual ward chili cook off, and it was SO fun!

My homemade lobster bib.

"Oh mom, you're so silly."

Chef, lobster, and a hungry customer!

Conference Weekend

I love conference weekend. Good food, relaxation, and of course hearing wonderful words from beloved leaders of our church.
We went down to my parents house and it was a party.  Jaren and Kassie came and stayed, and then my cousin Summer, her husband and 3 kiddos came down from Rexburg so that Mark could help my dad build a deck. I think Mark's the only one that knew what he was doing, but the deck looks great and these goof balls had fun building it!

3 peas in a pod.

Oscar though he needed to help too.

We love Kassie

This picture cracks me up! Bridger and Tegan woke up, and came into the living room where Jaren and Kass were sleeping... Kassie noticed her bra on the floor, so Jaren, ahem, Mr. Tease, thought he was being funny.  Ok, so maybe he's a little funny. (Sorry for this post Kassie!)

While the boys continued building away, the ladies made these yummy treats:

Yes, these are real, and yes, we should probably start a business.

My little helper.

Huh? I didn't eat those apples....

And naturally, when you have a cute babe, being extra adorable, you whip out the camera.
(Thanks Kassie for the great pictures!)

High five!

Even more delish than those caramel apples.

Enough, enough!

Okay, one more.

I love my family.
